Job Description

Taskin.mv is an emerging digital platform in the Maldives designed to bridge the gap between skilled service providers and customers. From home maintenance to professional consulting, we are building a seamless ecosystem for the "gig economy" in the Maldives. As we scale, we are looking for a sharp, tech-savvy Legal Advisor to ensure our platform is robust, compliant, and safe for all users.

The Role

We need a freelance Legal Advisor to review our current framework and provide ongoing counsel on digital commerce laws. You will be the architect of our user trust, ensuring that our Terms of Service and operational workflows align with Maldivian Law and international best practices for digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Drafting: Review and refine our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and User Agreements

• Regulatory Compliance: Advise on compliance regarding Electronic Transactions, Consumer Protection, and Data Protection laws in the Maldives.

• Liability Framework: Develop clear guidelines on platform liability, dispute resolution mechanisms between users, and refund/cancellation policies.

• Strategic Advice: Provide ad-hoc legal opinions on new feature launches

• Intellectual Property: Assist in protecting the Taskin brand and managing any IP-related queries.

What We’re Looking For

• Expertise: A qualified legal professional with a strong background in Commercial Law or Digital/Tech Law.

• Context: Familiarity with the Maldivian legal landscape and the Maldivian Courts system.

• Marketplace Experience: Previous experience working with startups, e-commerce, or gig-economy platforms is a major plus.

• Clarity: Ability to translate complex legal jargon into clear, "human-readable" terms for our users.

• Proactive Mindset: You don’t just spot problems; you suggest practical, business-friendly solutions.
