Job Description

General Requirements

• Certification as CSSD Technician by IAHCSMM &/or CBSPD &/or equivalent Diploma in Sterilization Technology
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
• Registered at a licensing authority
• Good English communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required

Job Specification

• Knowledge: Collection, cleaning, assembly, packaging and disinfection or sterilization of instruments and hollowware, practical autoclave functions.
• Operational Management: Operation of associated equipment and machinery according to policy and procedure.
• Teamwork: Positive attitude and ability to work in a team.
• Instrument Handling: Decontamination and packaging of anesthetic equipment, washing, disinfecting, sterilization of surgical and associated items.
• Reporting: Sterilization equipment checks/breakages, instrumentation damages/standard regular checks.
• Ensure the department functions safely and efficiently at all times as a team member.
• Cleanliness: Keep work areas tidy, clean and restocked.
• Record Keeping: Instrument breakages, sterilization techniques used, sterilization data.
