Job Description

General Requirements

• Sc. in Nursing (preferred) or G.N.M and/or Post-Basic B.Sc.N or current proof of registration in Post-Basic B.Sc.N at an accredited institution
• Registered Nurse at Maldives Nursing and Midwifery Council
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in nursing practice – specialized area care and advantage
• Ability to organize, plan and prioritize, and to lead team in absence of Head Nurse
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, demonstrated interpersonal and collaboration with nursing teams

Job Specification

• Responsible for managing the unit systems, processes and resources
• Supervise and monitor clinical care services for guests
• Ensure staff maintain own clinical records and reports
• Proficient in all clinical and psychomotor skills relevant to the chosen field
• Demonstrate competency in unit specific competencies
• Observe and ensure infection control guidelines and policies are adhered to
• Ensure management of equipment and resources effectively and efficiently
• Identify potential variances and high clinical risk situations
• Implementing effective management strategies
• Mentor and support all members of the nursing team
• Ensure staff are practicing within their identified scope of practice
• Utilize quick decision making skills to clinically manage unpredicted acute situations
• Participate in the clinical development, review and assessments of clinical practice
• Assessments of nursing competence of all members of the clinical team
• Responsible for ensuring safe and high level of nursing care is delivered
• Flexibility in assignments needed; a key support in scheduling, staffing, monitoring
