BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ENGINEER- (1) –TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

Job Scope

We’re looking for an experienced and qualified Business Intelligence Engineer to manage the Business Intelligence Platform of the Bank by gathering requirements, making plans and creating and maintaining MIS Reports in collaboration with business teams and the management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements for MIS and other reports for their departments and units.
  • Design, build, enhance and maintain Enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) Platform to support BI and advanced analytics.
  • Design and develop reports using SQL or other tools.
  • Design and develop online analytical processing (OLAP) cubes using SQL.
  • Provide complex analysis, conceptualize, design, implement and develop solutions for critical BI components.
  • Deep dive into massive data sets to answer key business questions using SQL and other data manipulation languages.
  • Perform dataflow, system and data analysis and develop meaningful and useful presentation of data in BI applications.
  • Build reporting data models and help Database Administrators and Data Engineering team with creating views and SQL scripts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with business teams to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights into current delivery performance, and ad hoc investigations into future improvements or innovations.
  • Contribute to data analysis, design and development of new and ongoing business intelligence (BI) projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams as a leader of ongoing analytical support.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to understand and apply changes/modifications impacting data warehouse.
  • Design, build, document and manage data warehouse objects.
  • Identify, develop, manage, and analyze to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help improve the Bank’s operations and customer experience.
  • Analyze key insight trends and build models that predict customer behaviour, using statistical rigor to simplify and provide thought leadership to the Bank’s management.
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of multiple databases, tools, metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, to drive key business decisions.
  • Design and develop ETL jobs and sequences that meet end user requirements.
  • Monitor ETL processes, system audits, dashboard reporting and presentation layer functioning and performance and pro-actively fix issues as found.
  • Plan and implement standards, define/code conformed global and reusable objects, perform complex database design, data modelling, programming and streamline the systems.
  • Monitor support tickets and collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Document troubleshooting and problem resolution steps.
  • Participate in the management of daily operations of the Technology department to provide services to various departments of the Bank.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Statistics, or similar field.
  • Professional Certification in Business Intelligence will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with the following.

               - A minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant business domains, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques, and technology.

               - Experienced in Microsoft Power BI and similar tools.

               - Expert level proficiency in SQL and performance optimization.

               - Experience with at least one scripting language (such as Python, Perl, Ruby, PHP, etc.).

               - Experienced with a wide range of predictive and decision models and data mining techniques, tools for developing such models (such as linear/logistic regression, decision trees, K-means, DBSCAN, Support Vector Machine, Naive Bayes, etc.).

               - Experienced in ETL, presentation layer and reporting design strategies.

  • Detail-oriented, with an aptitude for solving unstructured problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with direct reports, senior management, and other departments.
  • Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment.
  • Able to work in a team to implement new IT solutions and have strong communication skills in dealing with suppliers and service providers.
