Position Type: Permanent (Initial contract shall be for a period of 1 (one) year. The contract shall be renewed as permanent based on performance upon successful completion of one year.)
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in law (or) Shariah and Law
- Should have minimum 02 to 03 years’ experience in Civil Practice as a licensed attorney
- Knowledge of corporate and insurance related laws and regulations
- Strong analytical skills and significant experience in applying legal expertise and ability to prepare case documents, legal briefs and opinions
- Excellent communication skills both written and spoken in Dhivehi and English
- Strong interpersonal communication skills including spoken, written and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent the company in courts and/or at other state agencies when and if required regarding all legal matters
- Organize, and supervise all tasks associated with potential and/or ongoing court cases of the company including outsourced litigation / arbitration cases, both local and international
- Oversee and supervise the drawing up of legal documents, agreements, legal briefs, advice, and opinions
- Oversee, supervise, legal drafting, vetting and review of policies and procedures of the company
- Oversee the accuracy of records associated legal documents and any correspondence relating to legal matters
- Liaise and coordinate with the relevant departments / sections to rectify any legal issues of the company
- Perform any other task assigned to and required to be fulfilled by HOS of Legal Section
