Maldives Business School (MBS) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Officer to join our Finance Department. This role supports the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations and plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting and reporting activities.

Record daily financial transactions accurately and on time.
Process payments, supplier invoices, reimbursements, and petty cash.
Support student fee collections and ensure accurate ledger entries.
Maintain organized and secure financial documentation.
Assist in bank reconciliations and discrepancy resolutions.
Maintain subsidiary ledgers for payables, receivables, and other accounts.
Prepare payment schedules and support aged-accounts follow-ups.
Follow internal financial policies and ensure proper authorization of transactions.
Review records for adherence to internal controls and flag irregularities.
Assist in risk identification related to errors or fraud.
Participate in training sessions on compliance and financial procedures.
Prepare daily transaction summaries for review.
Assist in preparing cash flow, expense, and other periodic financial reports.
Maintain accessible and audit-ready financial documentation.
Support in generating departmental and project financial summaries.
Compile departmental data for budget preparation.
Monitor budget utilization and identify variances.
Assist in cash flow and expenditure projections.
Contribute to materials for budget review meetings.
Act as the liaison between Finance and other departments.
Respond to queries from staff, students, and vendors.
Support cross-departmental tasks such as procurement and project finance.
Participate in regular departmental meetings.
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS preferred).
Proficiency in financial management, record-keeping, and reporting.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in financial/accounting software.
Ethical conduct and commitment to confidentiality.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Office-based role with 8 working hours per day (Except Fridays, Satudays and Public Holidays)
Occasional overtime during peak reporting periods.
Collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
High focus, accuracy, and timely task completion required.
