Maldives Business School (MBS) is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Adjunct Lecturer – Research to facilitate our Year 3 Bachelor’s Degree students through their final-year research journey. This is a critical academic role designed to ensure students meet the highest standards.
Position Overview
- Role Title: Adjunct Lecturer – Research
- Program: Bachelor’s Degree (Year 3)
- Student Cohort: 45 Students (Approx)
- Work Structure: 5 Days Per Week (3 days of teaching + 2 days of individual feedback/reviews)
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Delivery: Deliver structured lectures on research methodology, including problem formulation, literature reviews, conceptual frameworks, and hypothesis testing.
- Technical Supervision: Guide students in SPSS data analysis, interpretation of findings, and quantitative research design.
- Individual Mentorship: Provide mandatory individualized feedback via email and private breakout sessions for 45 students.
- Ethics & Compliance: Coordinate with the Research Ethics Board (REB) for title approvals and ensure all research involving human participants is ethically cleared.
- Assessment: Evaluate the Research Synopsis (6,000 words) and Final Thesis (10,000 words), and conduct Viva-Voce examinations.
- Documentation: Maintain Supervisor-Student Log Sheets (minimum 4-6 logs per student) and ensure all academic documentation is audit-ready.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Education: Master’s Degree in Business, Management, or Research Methodology (PhD preferred).
- Experience: Strong track record in supervising undergraduate research and coordinating research ethics.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of SPSS and academic referencing styles (APA/Harvard).
- Communication: Excellent written skills, specifically for providing constructive, professional email feedback.
- Management: Ability to manage large student cohorts with strict adherence to milestones and timelines.
