The creation of new craft begins in Offshore Yachts Design Center, located on site at our birth land, Alifushi manufacturing facility. The new design studio, which opened its doors in January 2012 in Hulhumale, is unique to the local industry. Here, concepts are taken from hand-drawn sketches, to detailed CAD designs, then to full-scale floor models meticulously created using a variety of materials.
Design at Offshore studio is very much a team process, with ongoing input from engineering, manufacturing, and marketing. Offshore also values the suggestions of our clients, boat operators, captains and a select group of Marine industry dealerships that joins us to offer recommendations from the customer and dealer perspective.
“Our design and engineering teams constantly reassess and refine the plans for each new model,” explains the Chief designer Sujau.
The floor models allow our design team to “live” with each new concept for a while–to test clearances, measurements and equipment placement. While the Design Center floor isn’t quite the real world, it provides a hands-on opportunity to experience the feel of a craft prior to prototype development.
Once a new model has been perfected, several full-scale prototype vessels are manufactured to bring together the many systems and materials encompassed in each Offshore boat. The Product Launch area is directly adjacent to the Design Center, permitting easy and direct communication throughout the launch process.
Offshore Group production process is designed for optimal efficiency and quality. Our skilled and certified technicians work hands-on crafting each vessel, ensuring the unparalleled attention to detail that is a signature of the Offshore branded vessels.
Hull and deck are built simultaneously and are meticulously matched into a seamless whole. From the moment the hull leaves the mold until the boat leaves our facility, it smoothly flows throughout production in the same direction, minimizing handling and maneuvering.
Hulls and decks are constructed with slandered fiberglass products to achieve peak water resistance and laminated strength.
Wire harness assemblies are tinned copper marine grade wire and high quality connectors. Wiring is run continuously with no splicing and is loom protected throughout.
