About Us

With the proclamation of the first Constitution of the Maldives, a Ministry of Home Affairs was established on 22 December 1932 under the name “Al Wuzara Al’Dhaakhiliyya”, with the mandate to oversee and execute the country's internal affairs. Since then, the internal affairs of the Maldives have remained under the jurisdiction of Al Wuzara Al’ Dhakhiliyya. For the past 88 years, the Ministry of Home Affairs has been responsible for maintaining internal peace, security, and law and order within the country.
